Our Angels, we know them by name, and we’re calling them all, one by onel

Dear Michael, You are an angel in heaven as you were on earth and as long as I shall live, I will always love you more...

Whitney Houston...

another innovator and creative genuis who joins the rank of those gone too soon.  At 48 years young, Whitney Houston has left us. Her voice was the purest female vocal of our generation.  Now, she too is gone.  Is there a pact, a contract that our super talented young people must make, a promise to never live beyond the age of 50 in order to reach the pentacle?  What is going on?  If this continues, we will soon be in total darkness.  The bright lights of creativite genuis are systematically being shut down.  Are we to believe that this is an occupational hazard, that in order to thrive, reach the top, one must first allow themselves to become subjected to “alleged” drug use and be driven to an early death because of it?  Our brightest shining stars are becoming headline news over the information highways in the most horrendous of ways.

I don’t know how to accept this latest news.  Whitney was looking wonderful, working on a new production of the movie Sparkle, apparently taking better care of herself.  And now, just like Michael Jackson who aced This Is It, she’s gone.  Poof.  No more.  It makes me wonder, suspicious even, that there is something awry in the industry.  If there are as many drug addicted people in the business as the media would have us believe, then just how and why are they becoming as such?  I cannot believe that every one of them just took it unto themselves to go the drug route without some coercion or some assistance, possibly even unaware.  Surely a life style of glamour and fame is not a preresiquite to killing onesself with the the aid of drugs.  But it appears that the media would like for us to think that way and thereby shrug it off as to be expected and/or accepted, sooner than later.  I just don’t have a good feeling about all this death by numbers.  Somethings feels quite off and sleazy about it.  Kind of underworldish. I do so pray that this death too will be placed under close scrutiny and that an investigation will ensue.  Just like Michael Jackson, I don’t believe that drugs ingested by choice, killed Ms. Houston.  I don’t believe that a bullet by his own hands killed Peter Lopez.  I don’t believe a lot of stuff I’m being spoonfed these days.  It’s too much and too many.

Dear Whitney, may you forever rest in peace.  You will be in the company of angels with the greatest choir in which to impart your impeccable voice for all eternity.  Close your eyes and open your hearts and you will hear the voices in heaven singing in perfect harmony?

To your daughter, your mother, your family and your friends, and yes Bobby Brown, I pray that God will give them strength and comfort in their time of sorrow.  There will certainy be trying times ahead but God will hold you up if you lean on him.  This is such sad news today.  But what is even sadder is that we know unfortunately from much experience that the worse is probably still yet to come.  When our beloved heros  have given all they had to give, even life, death is still not enough to satisfy  the greed and insatiable hunger of tabloid trash.  They can make life for a grieving family a living hell.  I pray they will allow the family time to grieve.  I pray that this trend will end.  It must.  Look at all we have lost.  What more can they give?
